Introduction
Sarasota pawpaw (Asimina × peninsularis) is an accepted natural hybrid between A. parviflora and A. reticulata, both members of the Parviflora Clade. DeLaney described it from Florida in the same study that documented several additional natural pawpaw hybrids. Plants of the World Online recognizes it. (DeLaney, 2010; Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, 2026).
Horticultural and Agricultural Uses
No established horticultural or agricultural use is documented. Its main value is as evidence of natural gene flow between two southeastern pawpaw species.
Conservation Concerns
No separate formal conservation assessment was located for A. × peninsularis. The taxon is best conserved by maintaining populations of both parent species and the Florida habitats in which they occur together.
