Homeowners and landowners
Focused questions, single planting areas, or coordinated property-scale palettes.
Phytonomen consulting
Bring the conditions, goals, and difficult plant questions. Phytonomen turns them into clear, independent guidance for landscapes across the contiguous United States and Alaska.
A clearer way forward
Phytonomen brings together information about site conditions, plant characteristics, ecological relationships, sourcing, maintenance capacity, and your personal priorities in one streamlined selection process.
You receive a written basis for comparing alternatives, avoiding poor fit, and moving forward in a way that best supports your goals and gives you confidence in the results.
Who consulting serves
Focused questions, single planting areas, or coordinated property-scale palettes.
Independent botanical research and ecological reasoning alongside an existing workflow.
Custom support where performance, stewardship, and defensible choices matter.
Remote-first and report-led
Tell us about the site, the plants, and what you hope to accomplish. Photographs, approximate dimensions, maps or sketches, observed conditions, existing vegetation, and available records can all help. Phytonomen manually reviews fit and scope before any agreement or payment.
For an accepted project, the resulting PDF report is the authoritative deliverable—not an informal message or automated output.
Scope boundary
Phytonomen provides remote plant-selection and ecological guidance. Services may include species recommendations, site-fit analysis, native-status information, substitutions, and conceptual grouping, layering, spacing, succession, or arrangement guidance. They do not include scaled plans, exact plant locations or quantities, construction drawings, engineering, permitting, or landscape-architectural services unless separately contracted.
Choosing a service
Begin with the size of the question, then compare the approximate number of taxa, level of documentation, call allowance, and revision allowance.
