Introduction
Kral pawpaw (Asimina × kralii) is an accepted natural hybrid between A. incana and A. pygmaea. The parents lie in different Tree TSAR infrageneric clades, so the hybrid is displayed under Interclade Hybrids. It was described from Florida by DeLaney and remains accepted in Plants of the World Online. (DeLaney, 2010; Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, 2026).
Horticultural and Agricultural Uses
No established horticultural or agricultural use is documented. The taxon is primarily of interest for understanding natural hybridization among the pineland pawpaws.
Conservation Concerns
No independent formal conservation assessment was located. Conservation of the parent species and the open Florida habitats in which they can occur together is the most relevant context for the hybrid.
